Hung Yen (NAV) – More than 100 outstanding Hung Yen Catholics shared their experiences and good practices during their participation in patriotic emulation movements in their neighborhoods from 2017 to 2022 during a recent conference in the province of the same name.
Addressing the event, Quach Thi Huong, head of the provincial mass mobilization committee of the party committee and chairperson of the provincial fatherland front committee, said the local Catholic community stood together, observed the party and state policies and actively responded to
patriotic emulation movements.
Local parishes have engaged Catholic faithful in various movements, including those on protecting the environment, safeguarding safety, promoting road safety and combating social evil. The parishioners also effectively supported various social models, such as a self-sustaining neighborhood free from crime, drugs, and social ills and a religious family living in peace and harmony.
Many Catholic communities became models in building civilized residential areas and maintaining political security and social order.
In addition, thousands of Catholic families in Phu Cu, Van Giang, Yen My and An Thi districts, My Hao town and Hung Yen town have successfully run service businesses and agricultural plantations that contribute to improve local incomes.
In Yen My, Phu Cu, Kim Dong and Van Giang districts, supporters actively contributed to the new-style rural construction by donating thousands of square meters of land and billions of VND in cash for construction new roads.
catholics also participated in various charitable and fundraising activities to help the poor, underprivileged children, Agent Orange/dioxin victims, those rendering service to the nation in times of war, and those affected by COVID -19 and natural disasters./.
