Civil society organizes football tournament to promote voter education

A civil society group on voter education, Atikulate Nigeria Network has put in place mechanisms to see young Nigerians actively participate in politics through football.

The group organized a football tournament on Sunday in collaboration with DSG Sports Management in the Kabusa community in Abuja.

According to the chief organizer, Mr. Dennis Onwuka, in the grand final between Mshel and Zaar United, the football tournament was organized to bring the youth together in the political process.

“This tournament was made necessary by the Network’s strong desire to harness the potential of young people and put them to good use in meaningful endeavors like football,” he said.

His post was further aided by the Managing Director of Atikulate Nigeria Network, Mr. Eichie Ehiagwina Micheal Mayor who restored youth participation and really pushed for changing the narrative in Nigerian politics and proper use of PVC among young people in general elections.

“We are galvanizing people into the ATIKULATE NIGERIA NETWORK nationwide from all wards and polling stations in the 775 Local Government Areas of the Federation.

He also said that the 1NATION 7 apart football tournament will be organized soon and will be played nationwide in all 6 geopolitical zones with four teams to be registered in all 774 local government areas of 36 states and the FCT. He said the winning team will smile home with N5m.
